Dale Jones, Ph.D.
Managing Director
As the Managing Director of CulturePoint, Dr. Jones is responsible, with Dr. Yuengling, for the firm’s strategic focus, vision, and mission, while also managing its day-to-day operations. He has over 30 years of experience working with senior leaders in the government, military, and private sector on issues of leadership, strategic planning, strategic communications, and leading diverse teams.
Dr. Jones has had a varied career in public service, working in the government and military, academe, and the private sector. Dr. Jones earned his doctorate in English with a concentration in American Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and taught courses in American studies and leadership at Duke University, the University of Texas at Arlington, and DePaul University, among others. He has published several articles in various professional journals.
As an Army officer, Dr. Jones led soldiers for over 25 years, including a combat tour in Vietnam. His Army service also includes serving as the Secretary of the Army's senior civilian representative in the U.S. House of Representatives. In this position he was responsible for providing effective liaison between the Army and the U. S. Congress to gain congressional support for Army programs, policies, soldiers and their families. Before working on the Hill, he also conducted and oversaw the execution of OCLL’s legislative communication strategy. At the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), he served as the Congressional Advisor and Liaison for the Chief of Engineers (Commanding General) and Corps of Engineers’ senior leadership. He was selected to be a DoD Congressional Fellow and worked for US Senator Richard J. Durbin, handling his Defense appropriations and authorization issues and Veterans Affairs. As Deputy Chief of Staff for Reserve Affairs at USACE, his last assignment on active duty, he supervised staff engaged in planning, directing, and integrating Army Reserve and National Guard support to Corps of Engineers operations worldwide. He conceived and developed a plan for the establishment of an Army Reserve unit to support Corps of Engineers contingency operations globally.
